This thesis explores the development and evolution of e-commerce, with a particular focus on its acceleration during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. It examines the key drivers behind the rapid growth of e-commerce, including technological advancements, shifts in consumer behavior, and the digital transformation of businesses adapting to a new reality. The study highlights effective marketing strategies that enhance the performance of e-commerce, such as search engine optimization (SEO), social media advertising, and personalized customer experiences. Central to this exploration are the fundamental elements of marketing—product, pricing, promotion, and digital platforms—which collectively determine success in the e-commerce landscape.Furthermore, the thesis addresses the challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in adopting e-commerce, such as limited expertise, financial constraints, and heightened competition in a globalized market.Special attention is given to the dramatic acceleration of e-commerce adoption during the pandemic, showcasing examples of innovations and practices that shaped the industry. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of business adaptability to evolving circumstances, the prioritization of data security, and the pursuit of sustainable growth through the integration of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and augmented reality.
