| dc.description.translatedabstract | Solar Irradiance is divided into components based on the way it reaches Earth’s-surface, which are DNI (Direct Normal Irradiance) which defines the direct radiation that-reaches the ground vertically without being scattered, DdHI (Diffuse downwards-Horizontal Irradiance) which defines the diffused downward radiation that reaches the-ground after being repeatedly scattered, and GHI (Global Horizontal Irradiance) which is-related to the two aforementioned components. The components of solar radiation can be enhanced or reduced by changes in the-composition of the atmosphere. The amount of ozone, the number and size of aerosols-in the atmosphere are factors that affect the amount of solar irradiance that reaches the-ground. The purpose of the thesis is the study and determination of the concentration or-the optical properties of atmospheric components, such as ozone and aerosols, based-on the amount of solar irradiance (DNI, DdHI and GHI) that reaches the ground. For this-purpose, a spectral solar irradiance propagation model is used that calculates the-irradiances with given information on ozone and the properties of aerosols. In addition,-spectrophotometric measurements from the Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics are-used. | |
