In this thesis, we significantly contribute to the scientific research conducted by Maria-Papathanasopoulou and Haris Mourelatos by examining user effectiveness. The present study-analyzes a task titled Basic Double Math Assignment (BDMA), which took place on the-crowdsourcing platform Amazon Mechanical Turk (AMT). BDMA tasks are often used as-recruitment tests, as they provide essential information to hiring personnel. Initially, user responses-were categorized: out of 24,209 total responses, 22,222 (91.8%) were classified as Valid Value –-Correct, 1,368 (5.7%) as Valid Value – Incorrect, 2.5% were Missing (NaN), and a small number-were attributed to likely typographical errors—6 responses fell under the category Symbol Use and 4-under Text. The entire analysis was based on these categories of erroneous or problematic responses. The study reports on user performance both in aggregate and at the individual level, focusing on-response time and answer accuracy. Numerical phenomena, such as the Problem Size Effect,-Carryover Effect, and others, were examined in terms of their impact on output efficiency,-considering both response time and accuracy. Additionally, the effect of response time and bonus-incentives was studied across different user groups through the application of GLM and GME-regression models, evaluating their influence on producing correct responses.
