The rapid increase in the volume of high-resolution scientific data necessitates the development of efficient compression techniques suitable for high-performance computing (HPC) environments. This thesis focused on upgrading, configuring, and experimentally evaluating the CubismZ software, an advanced tool for compressing large-scale scientific datasets. Within the scope of this work, various compression techniques were implemented and applied, including ZFP, SPERR, FPZIP, SZ, and Wavelet-ZLIB, on datasets characterized by high computational complexity. The datasets involved thermodynamic fields, cavitation fields, and geometric models. The efficiency of the SPERR, SZ, ZFP, FPZIP, and WavZ compressors was evaluated based on Compression Ratio (CR), Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), and reconstruction errors. The results highlighted the ability of these techniques to significantly reduce storage and computational load while preserving scientific accuracy. Particular emphasis was given to the SPERR compressor, which demonstrated high efficiency in encoding extreme values. The thesis concludes with recommendations for future expansions, such as workflow automation and the use of machine learning techniques for dynamic adjustment of compression parameters.
