In the present thesis the phenomenon of sudden temperature change at the upper levels of the stratosphere and specifically at the isobaric levels of 3, 2, 1 hPa, was studied. For this purpose, temperature data for the past thirty years were used, specifically from 1991 to 2000. The aim of this thesis is to identify all the events of sudden temperature change at the upper levels of the stratosphere, the months that these events which occur and the intensity of each one. Moreover, by analyzing the periodicity of temperature, it is possible to estimate the time period in which the events of sudden temperature change will occur in the future and their frequency. This thesis consists of the introduction, and four chapters containing the theoretical background of the phenomenon, the methodology followed, the analysis of the results and the conclusions that emerge. In addition, bibliography and appendices with the figures, tables and codes that were developed are included. Chapter 1: Brief description of the composition of the Atmosphere and bibliographic analysis of the phenomenon of sudden stratospheric temperature change. Chapter 2: Methodology used to identify sudden stratospheric heating events. Chapter 3: Presentation of temperature diagrams and analysis of the results obtained. Chapter 4: Conclusions and suggestions for future thesis.el
