This thesis studies the industrial feasibility of a pilot plant design for valorization of coffee into high added value raw materials and final cosmetic products. SCG as an abundant and valueless agro-industrial waste has gained more attention because it has a high phenolic compounds, lipid, and caffeine. Under the paradigm of circularbioeconomy and green chemistry, the objective of this study is to design an eco-friendly and sustainable production model for the cosmetics industry. The paper presents a comprehensive survey about all the stages involved in processing of SCG, pre treatment (drying, milling), extraction, purification and final product formulation.Focus is given to the application of modern, environmentally friendly extraction technologies, including subcritical water extraction (SWE), ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), and pressurized solvent extraction (PSE), for the extraction of bioactive compounds, in the absence of harmful organic solvents. Phenolic powders and coffee oil are used in cosmetic formulations to assess antioxidant, moisturizing and regenerative effects of the products. In terms of economic, capital and operating costs assessments were made, fixed costs (at the production stage) were based on the calculation of the cost based on the process, and were applied financial indicators (NPV, IRR, Period of return) to evaluate the project implementation. Sensitivity analysis is used to determine the effects of some variables including raw material price and market on the results. Vehicles and unit location for SCG The logistic of SCG supply chain management for urban collection from HORECA, as well as the integration of the unit into areas with high SCGavailability will be considered in parallel. The proposed model is entirely vertically integrated and constructed on the premises of zero waste principles (solvent recovery, water reuse and energy valorisation of solid residues). This thesis offers a technically feasible and economically viable model for establishing a model of green industrial production that integrates both technological innovation, environmental responsibility and circular economy practices when developing natural cosmetic products.
