This paper examines the endoscopic methods in the treatment of injuries in maxillofacial area. It covers the historical development and technological advances of endoscopy, analyzes cases of fractures treated endoscopically and compares endoscopic with open methods. Our aim is to highlight the benefits of the minimally invasive surgical approach, such as reduced invasive techniques, faster recovery, reduced risk of infections and improved aesthetic results. The results show that endoscopic examination is particularly important in the surgical care of frontal bone fractures, allowing the preservation of frontal bone sinus. The use of endoscopically assisted methods improves the safety and accuracy of osteotomies, offering better anatomical restoration and stabilization, while reducing the risk of inferior alveolar nerve and facial nerve injury, while reduce external scarring. Regarding mandibular fractures, open reduction and rigid internal fixation have been suggested as reliable treatments. However, the endoscopic method offers significant advantages, such as reduction of the postoperative external facial scar, precise anatomical reduction and fixation, and avoidance of facial nerve injury. In addition, the endoscopic view improves visibility during various surgical procedures, such as nasal osteotomy, and helps avoid injury to important anatomical structures.
