Δοκιμάζονται και αξιολογούνται διαφορετικές προσεγγίσεις (Matrix Factorization, Item-Item Collaborative Filtering, Most Pop) και έπειτα προστίθενται δεδομένα πλαισίου (context) με τη μέθοδο Post Filtering.
This thesis focuses on Recommender Systems, with an emphasis on Context-Aware Recommender Systems (CARS). These systems are evolving as critical tools in addressing the phenomenon of information overload, providing personalized recommendations to users based on their preferences as well as parameters such as time, location, and social context. This paper analyzes the historical development and significance of recommendation systems, focusing on certain categories of recommendation systems: collaborative filtering, hybrid approaches, and, in particular, Context-Aware Systems. Particular emphasis is given to the functional architecture of the systems and the use of explicit and implicit feedback. Next, evaluation metrics such as Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Precision, and Recall are examined in depth, which are necessary for comparing algorithms and setting targets for improving recommendation methods. Finally, the paper examines an application to a real data set (Mobile Frappe), which contains contextual information. Different approaches (Matrix Factorization, Item-Item Collaborative Filtering, Most Pop) are tested and evaluated, and then context data is added using the Post Filtering method. The results for the various metrics are presented and evaluated.
