Abstract
This thesis presents a comprehensive study of Control And Calibration (C&C) on photoelectronic circuits, focusing on architectures, implementations and evaluation of Extremum Seeking Control Loop method. The primary objective is to stabilize One Degree of Freedom (1-DOF) of a Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC), using the Extremum Seeking (ES) control method. The metholodgy involves implementations and Simulations in Matlab and Matlab Simulink enviroment, which are utilized to validate and analyze ES method. Key findings demonstrate that it is possible to stabilize a single DOF using ES method, with good accuracy and stability. The research also explores the systems behavior under various conditions, such as ramp response, various phase offsets, validating the systems robustness and efficiency of the proposed solution. This work contributes to the field of C&C in Photonics that the university participates with the FLEXSCALE project, by evaluating that the research is on the right track and generate concrete data sets for validation in the future hardware implementation.
