Οι απόψεις των εκπαιδευτικών Α’ βάθμιας και Β’ βάθμιας εκπαίδευσης για τα προγράμματα ψυχικής υγείας

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to explore, through a multiprismatic lens, the attitudes, and opinions of primary and secondary school teachers regarding mental health programs. As part of the thesis, a detailed review of the literature is conducted from which the dominant role of teachers in contemporary school settings is highlighted, which have at the heart of their objectives the maintenance of high levels of mental health of their students, beyond the simple transmission of knowledge and experiences. To draw overall conclusions, different dimensions that make up the teachers' views are studied, such as the level of training, motivation, extracurricular limiting factors, opinion on the contribution of the programs in terms of students' later careers and others. Specifically, a questionnaire was developed for collecting data regarding the opinions of educators on specific dimensions. The scales of the questionnaire were created for the purposes of the research, while data analysis included descriptive statistics, Spearman correlation coefficients, and hypothesis testing using t-tests. The findings are summarized in the final chapter, where the responses to the research questions are presented. Based on the above, the paper aspires to develop a comprehensive manual on the optimal framework for designing and implementing programs and at the same time to bridge the research gap that exists in the Greek literature on the capture of teachers' views on programs. In this way, it can contribute to addressing problems that govern the current framework of school units and thus to their evolution into modern student-centric units.
