| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία ασχολείται αρχικά με τα οπτικά δίκτυα, δίνονται κάποιοι ορισμοί και έννοιες για εξοικείωση με το θέμα και οι λόγοι που οδήγησαν στην δημιουργία τους. Στη συνέχεια αναλύονται τα παθητικά οπτικά δίκτυα, το κυρίως θέμα της εργασίας, όπου παρουσιάζονται κάποιες υπάρχουσες τεχνικές επιλογές για σχετικές υλοποιήσεις. Απώτερος σκοπός είναι η δημιουργία ενός τεχνοοικονομικού μοντέλου εφαρμογής των παθητικών οπτικών δικτύων, ώστε να φανεί και στην πράξη κατά πόσο είναι βιώσιμες τέτοιες επενδύσεις και αν μπορούν να ανταπεξέλθουν, μέσω ορισμένων υλοποιήσεων (με τις σχετικές υποθέσεις τους ) που έχουν παρατεθεί. | el |
| dc.description.translatedabstract | In beginning, this diploma thesis deals with the optical networks, where some definitions and meanings are given, so that to exists a familiarization with the subject, and some of the reasons which led to creation of them. After that, the passive optical networks which are the main body of thesis are analysed, with some of the existing technical options for relevant implementations are presented. The final purpose is to create a techno-economic model based in passive optical networks to see in practice whether such investments are viable and if can use them in real life. | el |
