| dc.description.translatedabstract | The thesis addresses cybersecurity issues that arise in the management of business content and, more specifically, in the reliability of documents as evidence for administration, auditing, and accountability. The core of the study is structured around two applied case studies that cover critical operational phases: the secure intake of incoming records and the secure approval/signing of documents within organizations. In Case Study A, conducted in a municipal organization, the focus is on ensuring integrity and authenticity from the very first stage of document entry, so as to prevent tampering, reduce uncertainty about provenance, and safeguard the evidential value of the record. The study highlights the need for controlled intake channels, standardized logging, enhanced traceability, and practices that enable the detection of modifications and the documentation of actions performed on the document. In Case Study B, carried out in an insurance company, the study examines the problem of the absence of a secure approval and signing mechanism, which creates gaps regarding who approved what, when, and the exact content that was approved, with consequences for accountability and internal audit. It proposes the adoption of electronic signatures as a mechanism that binds identity to content and the organization of the approval workflow in a verifiable and auditable manner. The thesis further complements the above with an operational assessment of the proposed interventions, aiming for security to be reflected in measurable and controllable outcomes. In particular, it advocates evaluation through indicators relating to the completeness and consistency of logging, the maintenance of an unbroken audit trail, the processing time for intake and approvals, and the ability to reconstruct events in the context of an audit or an incident. The study also extends these points with a functional evaluation of the proposed measures, so that security can be substantiated through clear, verifiable results. Specifically, it proposes monitoring indicators that capture the completeness and consistency of logging, the continuity and integrity of the audit trail, the time required to complete intake and approvals, and the capability to reliably reconstruct the sequence of actions in the event of an audit or an incident. | |
