Abstract

The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the advances of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the finance sector, specifically through a comprehensive review and bibliometric analysis. AI has emerged as a transformative force in finance, driving innovation and enhancing the efficiency of various financial processes. This thesis systematically examines AI's role in key areas such as risk management, financial forecasting, investment analysis, and customer service. A detailed bibliometric analysis of relevant literature from 2014 to 2024 is conducted, highlighting the most influential research contributions, trends, and key players in the field. Furthermore, the study delves into specific applications of AI, including its impact on bankruptcy prediction, credit-risk assessment, financial fraud detection, and portfolio management. The findings reveal a significant and growing body of research that underscores the critical role of AI in modern financial systems. The results suggest that AI not only improves operational efficiency but also provides competitive advantages to financial institutions. However, the integration of AI also presents challenges, including ethical considerations and the need for robust data protection mechanisms. This thesis contributes to the understanding of AI’s evolving role in finance and offers insights into future research directions and practical applications.
