| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα εργασία ασχολείται με την σχέση που έχουν τα παιδιά σήμερα με το θέατρο σκιών και συγκεκριμένα με τον Καραγκιόζη. Μέσα από την ιστορική εξέλιξη του είδους, την περιγραφή των χαρακτήρων του θεάτρου σκιών και την ανάλυση του περιεχομένου του επιδιώκεται η γνωριμία με το είδος αυτό θεάτρου. Η πορεία του από τα βάθη της Ανατολής ως την Τουρκία και από εκεί στην Ελλάδα, ο εξελληνισμός του και η εγκαθίδρυση του ως μια από τις σημαντικότερες λαϊκές διασκεδάσεις στα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα και στις αρχές του 20ου είναι κάποια από τα στοιχεία που συγκροτούν την διαδρομή του μέσα στους αιώνες. Ταυτόχρονα αναλύονται οι ιδιαίτερες τεχνικές του είδους όπως και το κύριο σώμα της παράστασης δηλαδή αυτό των συγκεκριμένων τύπων – φιγούρων που επαναλαμβάνονται σχεδόν αναλλοίωτοι μέχρι τις μέρες μας. Τέλος, επιχειρείται μια επισκόπηση των κοινωνικών αναλύσεων που έχουν γίνει γύρω από τον Καραγκιόζη στηριζόμενες τόσο στις κριτικές που έχει δεχτεί όσο και στο αυξημένο ενδιαφέρον της ερευνητικής κοινότητας για το είδος αυτό. Το ερευνητικό μέρος της εργασίας ασχολείται με τις γνώσεις των παιδιών σχετικά με τον Καραγκιόζη με σκοπό την εύρεση της θέσης που κατέχει τόσο στο γνωστικό τους πεδίο όσο και στις ψυχαγωγικές τους επιλογές. | el |
| dc.description.translatedabstract | This dissertation examines how contemporary Greek children relate to a particular form of shadow theater, known as ‘Karagiozis’. I pay attention to the historical evolution of the genre, the description of its characters and the analysis of its content with an aim towards shedding some light on this idiosyncratic kind of theater. I trace its development from its early origins in Eastern Turkey to its arrival in Greece, its subsequent hellenization and its establishment as one of the most popular folk entertainments in the late 19th century and early 20th. I also analyze the special techniques of the genre, as well as the main body of the performance, including its specific characters - figures, which are almost invariably repeated until nowadays. Finally, I provide an overview of the social analysis that focuses on ‘Karagiozis’, which includes criticisms received and the increased interest of the research community. The original data that support the dissertation deal with the knowledge of contemporary Greek children about Karagiozis. This provides an opportunity to evaluate the position of shadow theater in the children’s cognitive field and their recreational choices. | el |
