Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to critically review the literature and econometric methods used in the analysis and measurement of the so-called Wellbeing or the feeling of living well in a country from both the economic and psychological point of view and the factors that influence it. On the occasion of the global financial crisis of 2008 that shook Europe as well, the financial indicators that influence wellbeing as an aftermath of the financial crisis are demonstrated. A compass in this project will be the study by Martijn J. Burger and Efstratias Arampatzi which was carried out in 2013 and processes data entered from the European Commission's database on the happiness and satisfaction felt by EU citizens since 1975.
