X-ray tube is the most significant component utilized in a variety of different imaging modalities. The Monte Carlo (MC) package that was used to simulate the X-ray tube was EGSnrc and especially BEAMnrc. The aim of this thesis is to describe the necessary steps to simulate an X-ray tube and evaluate the results of the simulation. The first part outlines the essential theoretical background to understand the X-ray tube main principles of operation and the different modalities which it can be applied. The interactions of radiation with matter which are utilized within the simulation are described and explained. The reference to the MC method and how modeling of high-energy physics is accomplished was evaluated as most important. The installation process of the MC package EGSnrc has a distinct number of steps that need to be followed with precision and are explained in detail. Next, the reader is presented with an introduction to BEAMnrc and its main parameters. Afterwards, a detailed description of the simulated model is displayed along with figures that shows all stages until it is complete. For every simulation run the produced spectrum is displayed alongside with the number of simulated electrons that were generated and hit the target together with the produced number of photons. The results consist of different combinations of anode angles, anode materials, filters, two different shapes of electron beams and with the use of variance reduction technique or without. Finally, there is a reference to the gained experience from this thesis, the limitations of this study and new ideas that could be accomplished in the future.el
