Abstract

This diploma thesis concerns the design and development of a Software as a Service web application, along with a monitoring tool for assisting traders in real-time with their Proprietary Firms evaluation challenges. The application enables traders to make informed, rule-compliant decisions by continuously monitoring trading activity and generating instant alerts whenever an action risks violating any of the challenge rules. As a result, by identifying immediately the potential breaches, such as risk limit violations or time-based restrictions, traders can respond quickly and resolve the issues on time. Overall, the platform operates essentially as an intermediary between the trader’s execution environment and an automated compliance layer. In the following paragraphs, a detailed analysis of modern proprietary trading firms is presented, including their evaluation methods and challenge rules within the financial domain. Additionally, an overview of contemporary trading software and the technologies commonly employed in this field is provided. Furthermore, the design considerations for the implementation of the proposed platform are discussed, covering the selected technologies, programming languages, system architecture, as well as the quality assurance and deployment processes required to ensure the correct and reliable operation of the application. Finally, the functional and non-functional requirements of the application are evaluated using multiple methodologies, and potential directions for future research and development are discussed with the aim of improving the overall system.
