Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to study and understand the basic concepts of the Internet of Things (IoT) and expand the boundaries of the Internet of Things using 5G and future technologies. Using the quadruped robot Unitree Go1, the device's software development kit, and a 5G modem, a web application was implemented for livestreaming from the available cameras of the robot and controlling it through the 5G network.
Initially, an introduction is provided to basic technologies necessary for proper communication and use of the robot, such as the Linux operating system, frameworks, and libraries for video streaming (VLC, WebRTC, Gstreamer, etc.). At the same time, a first acquaintance is made with the hardware and software of Go1.
Subsequently, after achieving live-streaming using a Raspberry Pi 4 as the transmission source for testing purposes, communication with the robot was established, and live video was captured from its cameras by modifying existing code and scripts of Go1, as well as using the Gstreamer video live-streaming framework. Additionally, the web application GoPa1 Controller was developed, where the user can receive images from the cameras and send standardized commands through a command line for controlling Go1.
Finally, the robot was connected to 5G using a 5G modem. This required modifying the scripts related to the robot's module connections to the network, and the application was successfully used under the new network conditions.
