Energy consumption in buildings represents about 40% of the total energy consumption worldwide. Therefore, the increase of the energy efficiency of buildings has become an imperative need since it can contribute to the reduction of their consumption and at the same time to the decrease of the global warming phenomenon. All the above cannot be achieved without the use of renewable energy sources. Hospitals are one of the largest consumers in the building sector. The high consumption is due to their 24-hour operation, which also involves a 24-hour requirement for heating, cooling, air conditioning, hot water supply, lighting and the operation of their equipment. Therefore, in the present paper the energy study of a hospital unit will be carried out and an effort will be made to improve its energy efficiency by using an appropriate software. Firstly, there are going to be specified all the necessary things of its premises and its heating, ventilation and air condition system. Next step will be the integration of renewable energy sources into the building site. Finally, the results of the one-year duration energy simulation will be presented and commented.el
