In the present work, the analysis, modeling, testing and simulation of the Series Hybrid Car is carried out, with the development of appropriate control techniques aimed at its smooth and optimal operation, regardless of the conditions prevailing on the road at the time of its movement. The need for control and development of electric and hybrid cars (Electric Drive) arises from their rapid and increased penetration, in recent years, in the global market. The main drivers of this rapid evolution of EVs and HEVs are the environmental benefits of the planet, due to the zero and minimal emissions they emit and the reduction of world oil production and pumping. Economic reasons as the price of electricity is much lower than that of gasoline and diesel, while they self-charge during vehicle decelerations, further improving the consumption index and during the stop they do not consume any energy, while they need much less service and maintenance. Then the individual components that make up EVs and HEVs are analyzed, namely the electric motor, the battery, the additional dc loads, the electronic power converters (dc / dc boost converter and dc / ac voltage source converter), the ICE internal combustion engine and the dc direct current generator in combination with the drive system and the whole dynamics of the vehicle based on Newtonian engineering. In the present work, an analysis is made for each of the above components by deriving the differential equations through physics for each of them and the dynamic mathematical model of the whole system which is a non-linear system of differential equations. This total non-linear system becomes the basis for the application of control techniques through PI controllers with Cascade Control for each of the reasons for the division of the power converters so that in practice we control in a smooth and optimal way the speed of rotation of the electric motor, which moves the wheels of the vehicle, when the driver presses the car's pedals. In the end we simulate the whole system together with the control in Matlab Simulink software, taking out and commenting on the graphs.el
