Abstract
Menopause is a period of a woman's life that seems to be associated with negative stereotypes. Stereotypes, stigmas and misconceptions linked to menopause can affect women's psychology in several ways. Taking into account that textbooks largely determine the content of biology teaching, this article focuses on the presence of menopause in Greek biology textbooks for secondary education. The analysis of 6 textbooks shows that only in two of them there is information about (a) the nature of menopause and (b) its relation to the occurrence of osteoporosis.
