In this thesis, we photophysically probe excitation energy transfer in a series of well-known conjugated (co)polymers, small molecules used in organic light emitting diodes and solar cells. The materials that we investigate are conjugated polymers that belong to the families of polyfluorenes and polythiophenes, porphyrins and the prototype perovskite MAPbI3Cl3-x. To this aim, we fabricate solution processed thin films of donor-acceptor blends of suita-ble combinations of the studied materials and we investigate their photophysics by means of steady state and time correlated single photon counting photoluminescence measurements in the ps to ns timescale. This thesis consists of the following chapters. In the first chapter, the basic principles of hybridization, molecular orbitals and the process of absorption-emission of radiation are described. The second chapter presents the basic optoelectronic properties of conjugated polymers, porphyrins and perovskites. The third chapter describes the process of energy transfer with the corresponding models required for its description. In the fourth chapter, the experimental techniques used for this experiment are described. The fifth chapter presents the specific materials used herein as well as the experimental procedures for the preparation and investigation of the samples in detail. Finally, in the sixth chapter, the results of the photophysical measurements are presented and discussed in detail.
