Για τους επενδυτές που υιοθετούν κριτήρια ESG, η έρευνα υποδεικνύει ότι η βελτιστοποίηση χαρτοφυλακίου και η αποτελεσματική τιμολόγηση του περιβαλλοντικού οφέλους απαιτούν μακρόπνοο επενδυτικό ορίζοντα, ο οποίος επιτρέπει την αποδέσμευση από τις βραχυχρόνιες πιέσεις της παραδοσιακής αγοράς ομολόγων. dc.description.translatedabstractThis thesis examines the dynamics and correlation between low environmentalfootprint bonds (Green Bonds - GBI) and conventional high-footprint bonds (NonGreen Bonds - NGBI) within the Greek capital market. The research covers the period from July 13, 2022, to February 27, 2026, a timeframe characterized by the maturation of the domestic green market and the stabilization of exogenous shocks following the pandemic. For the data analysis, a series of econometric tools were employed;specifically, stationarity tests and Granger causality were used to investigate short-term relationships, Pearson and Kendall correlation coefficients to measure the intensity of linear and non-parametric associations, the Johansen cointegration test to identify longterm equilibrium states, and the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) to quantify the impact while ensuring the elimination of heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation issues. The results demonstrate a complex relationship between the two asset classes. While a unidirectional short-term causality is identified from conventional bonds (NGBI) toward green bonds (GBI) along with a positive correlation, this relationship is not maintained in the long run, as the series exhibit no cointegration. Furthermore, the GMM analysis confirmed that NGBI values do not exert a statistically significant effect on GBI prices over time. The study concludes that the Greek green bond market, despite its early stage of development, is beginning to acquire an autonomous momentum. The initial dependence of green securities on the volatility of the conventional market is receding, giving way to a structural shift where the "Greenium" reflects fundamental economic values. For investors adopting ESG criteria, the research indicates that portfolio optimization and the effective pricing of environmental benefits require a long-term investment horizon, which allows for decoupling from the short-termpressures of the traditional bond market.
