| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα εργασία εξετάζει ιστορικά την εμφάνιση, διαμόρφωση και εξέλιξη της αναλυτικοσυνθετικής γεωμετρικής μεθόδου, με στόχο να αναδειχθεί η ευρετική της αξία και η παρουσία της ως τρόπος σκέψης στα πλαίσια της επιστημονικής δραστηριότητας. Αρχικά εξετάζεται το ζήτημα της προέλευσης της μεθόδου, ανιχνεύοντας τις αναφορές στο έργο του Πλάτωνα και του Αριστοτέλη, ενώ στη συνέχεια γίνεται αναφορά στη γεωμετρική μέθοδο της απαγωγής η οποία χαρακτηρίστηκε από τους μετέπειτα μελετητές πρόδρομος της αναλυτικοσυνθετικής μεθόδου. Ακολουθεί σχολιασμός του πρώτου ορισμού της μεθόδου, ο οποίος εντοπίζεται στα σχόλια του δεκάτου τρίτου βιβλίου των «Στοιχείων» του Ευκλείδη (αγνώστου σχολιαστή), ενώ παράλληλα παρουσιάζονται παραδείγματα από το έργο του Αρχιμήδη και του Απολλώνιου. Γίνεται αναφορά στο έργο «Συναγωγή» του Πάππου, ο οποίος επτά αιώνες μετά τον Ευκλείδη εξετάζει διεξοδικά την αναλυτικοσυνθετική μέθοδο και διατυπώνει έναν δεύτερο, πληρέστερο ορισμό, που ενώ αποτελεί τη βασική αναφορά των μελετητών, επιδέχεται περισσότερες από μια ερμηνείες, προκαλώντας μια σειρά άρθρων σε σχέση με αυτό που αργότερα ονομάστηκε «ζήτημα της κατεύθυνσης». Περιλαμβάνονται επίσης αναφορές από έργα Αράβων μαθηματικών, οι οποίοι τον 10ο αιώνα μ.Χ. εξακολουθούν να χρησιμοποιούν την αναλυτικοσυνθετική μέθοδο για την επίλυση γεωμετρικών προβλημάτων. Η εργασία ολοκληρώνεται με στιγμιότυπα από τη νεώτερη εποχή, όπου διαπιστώνεται η παρουσία της αναλυτικοσυνθετικής μεθόδου ως τρόπος σκέψης στην εξέλιξη της επιστήμης, περιλαμβάνοντας μια μικρή παρουσίαση της περίπτωσης του σχεδιασμού προϊόντων ως παράδειγμα επίδρασης της μεθόδου στις νέες τεχνολογίες. | el |
| dc.description.translatedabstract | Τhe present study explores the historical roots, formulation and evolution of the ancient Greek method of geometrical analysis and synthesis, in order to illustrate its heuristic value as well as its influence as a way of thinking in the field of scientific activity. Starting from tracing the origins of the method through references from the works of Plato and Aristotle, followed by the description of the method of geometrical reduction(apagoge), which was later assumed to be the early form of geometrical analysis, the study proceeds with an elaboration of the two surviving definitions and specific cases from the works of Archimedes and Apollonius. The first definition is interpolated by an unknown scholiast to Euclid's Elements XIII, while the second one is outlined in the preface to the seventh book of Pappus' Mathematical Collection, and despite the fact that it is far more extensive than the first one, it has given rise to a series of articles concerning the so – called directional problem. The study also includes references in the work of Arab mathematicians during the 10th century A.D., who at that time still used the method of analysis and synthesis in order to solve geometrical problems. Finally, the study concludes by presenting examples from the modern era when the method of analysis and synthesis is present as a way of thinking in scientific evolution, demonstrating a short presentation of the case of product design as an example of the method’s influence in new technologies. | el |
