This MSc thesis deals initially with the development of a Convolutional Neural Network for the recognition of hand movements through surface electromuscular signals. It also focuses on developing an application in a Virtual Reality environment in which the user's goal is to win by making the right gesture depending on the object he has to grab each time. At first, reference is made to the basic theory of surface electromuscular signals. More specifically, their characteristics, the stage of their creation as well as the way of recording them are described. A reference is also made to Machine Learning, its types, Deep Learning and Neural Networks. Then we refer to the database for surface electromyography signals that we use in this thesis. Ninapro DB1 database was used for this work. We describe the processing techniques that we perform, such as filtering, normalization and sEMG image creation, to bring the image to the desired format. We follow up with two chapters with the experimental stages of the work. The first step describes how to create the neural networks, the process of selecting the values of the hyperparameters, but also the results of the classification of the movements in the DB1 database of Ninapro. In the second stage, reference is made to the MindRove armband, which we use to collect surface electromyography signal values. Also, we deal with the construction of the Virtual Reality application in Unity where the movements must be recognized by MindRove, to increase the score every time the user makes the right move, after some action is performed in the scene. Finally, we summarize conclusions from this work and discuss certain concepts and modifications that can be further explored.el
